At Detox Superfood Bar, we understand the importance of minimising food wastage. To tackle this issue, we have implemented various strategies to ensure that we make the most of every ingredient. For instance, when bananas don’t meet the aesthetic requirements for acai bowls, we freeze them to be used in our delicious smoothies, like our Nutter!. This not only reduces food wastage but also allows us to provide our customers with an expanded menu while maximising the nutritional value of our ingredients.
In our commitment to sustainability, we have transitioned from a paper-based loyalty card system to an electronic one. This transition not only streamlines the process for our customers but also significantly reduces paper consumption. With our new electronic loyalty program, customers can enjoy a free acai bowl after every 9th acai bowl purchased. By going digital, we aim to minimise our ecological footprint and contribute to the reduction of paper waste. You can easily register for a Detox Superfood Bar loyalty card at our Newtown store.
Using only fair trade and organic acai in our delicious acai bowls is a priority for us at Detox Superfood Bar. By sourcing acai from the Amazon region, we support sustainable farming practices that protect the rainforest and its inhabitants. Our acai is wild-harvested directly from tall palm trees!ย Our commitment with purchasing fair trade acai ensures that the local farmers are fairly compensated for their efforts, helping them maintain their livelihoods and improve their communities. By choosing fair trade organic acai, we prioritise the health of the planet and the well-being of those who cultivate the ingredients we love. We are currently using Samobozan acai for our delicious acai bowls. Samobzan acai is hand harvested by local farmers which minimses the impact on the local eco system.
Detox Superfood Bar has embraced sustainable packaging as part of our commitment to reducing our environmental impact. We have made the switch to eco-friendly materials for our acai bowls, smoothie cups, and spoons which also includes our catering!ย Our packaging is now made from compostable or biodegradable materials, ensuring that they break down naturally and minimize harm to the environment. By making this change, we aim to reduce our contribution to the growing plastic waste problem and promote a circular economy.
